Rick with our parents at the Floating Gardens of Xochimilco (Mexico City)
OUR STORY
Our parents felt that travel was much more than recreation. To them, travel provided us with an opportunity to learn and to experience other cultures. Thank you Mom and Dad!
Our parents, Mae and Truel Love, were in the hotel/motel business in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. We were fortunate because this allowed us to meet people from around the world and to hear their stories about where they were from and where they had visited.
We also traveled a lot when we were growing up. Our parents did not just show us the major sights, they taught us the importance of the people, the culture, and the history of the places we visited. And, since we usually traveled by car on our vacations, we discovered many surprises along the way.
RICK LOVE
Richard (Rick) Love enjoys travel—whether by car, bus, train, plane, boats, or ships, it doesn’t matter. He likes to say, “Forget the guidebooks, where are the locals?” Rick wants to not just see a place, he wants to experience it. By exploring and asking questions, he can find interesting sights and treasures that many travelers overlook and discover the little known stories that are often more interesting than those published in the guidebooks. So, where will Rick take his Nikon next? “I’m always dreaming. There are still so many interesting places that I haven’t visited. And, of course, I haven’t traveled by rocket…yet!”
